First, we have Minnie, who does not quite understand why her new friend is not playing with her!

And then there is Loki, who received this WONDERFUL tent and tunnel to play in (remember, the puppies all had a tunnel to play with when they were in their litter together?)...and also a nice large chew bone to keep him busy indoors.

Two more puppies hopping on the Christmas bandwagon.....first we have Minnie with her dearest friend Sophie, and then we have Madison (and the one that looks like Santa, is really her "daddy" at home! )
Now, we just have to see what pix we get from the missing three pups.
I know I am a proud grandma, but aren't all these just the absolutely cutest puppies you have ever seen!!!

PLAYING SHOW DOG

Two of the puppies practicing to be show dogs. The first two pix are of Sunset taken two weeks ago and the last two are of Sebastian taken just this morning....they are doing well and looking good. If all goes according to plan, they will make their debut at the Lehigh Valley Canine Learning Experience puppy show the evening of January 28th.

First, we have Waikiki, whose new name is Madison, and who lives with a German Shepherd (who has become her best friend and protector) and also an older Siberian Husky....

FOR THEIR NEW HOMES! Except for Sunset, Waikiki and Jeffrey who are looking sad and wondering "when"??? Actually the three of them will be heading south to Richmond, VA next Thursday.

The others shown are:
Nantucket - who will live in Akron, PA...still waiting for a new name to be chosen tho;
Mavericks - living now in Long Island, NY - and called Lincoln;
Marbella - now in Massachusetts and called Minnie;
and Makaha - who is close by in Hatfield, PA and her new name is Zoey.

Not pictured yet are Sebastian who will keep his name and is living in Bethlehem and will be shown by Darlene and Malibu, now called Cooper and living in NE Phila. Their pictures will be posted soon.

A FUN VET VISIT

To the "doggy chiropractor" this evening. We like to take the litters to her for a bone structure check up and adjustment if needed. She is so wonderfully gentle with all animals, large and small, and the pups got to have the run of the office and meet new friends!

It will be time for us all to head on out to our new homes! We thought you would enjoy seeing our faces now that we are a bit older.... Malibu and Sebastian are the two boys that do not show their name plates, and at the bottom are Waikiki and Sunset.. (and NO -- we do NOT have any blue eyes, but some reason some of them look more blue than dark brown).

The pups got their first taste of "show dog" pictures....and actually cooperated rather well...the girls are pictured on the pink towel and the boys on the blue....the order for the first two girls where their names are not easily seen: Marbella and Makaha. The first boy shown is Sebastian. All the other name plates are easily seen.

OUTDOORS IN THE SUNSHINE!

What a fun day - Two sets of puppy visitors, one all the way from Richmond, VA! We spent the afternoon in the sun and also got to chase Momma Kirra out in the grass. The pictures below show us in the puppy pen. More visitors coming in a couple of days and then we will have "formal" set up pictures taken (like mini show dogs!) Watch for update either Tuesday nite or Wednesday during the day.

WHAT A CHANGE FROM THE LAST PICTURES!!!!
Puppies spent time outdoors in the lovely summer-like temperatures on Saturday and Sunday. Visitors came this weekend also and so lots of extra socialization. Hearing testing is set for this Thursday morning, so we will post again after that. Right now, all puppies are very uniform in size and type and we are looking forward to some nice show prospects in the group.

Now that we have more distinctive spotting and it is easier to tell us apart, we have NAMES! Each litter has a theme, and the one for this litter is "Surfer Beaches" since momma Kirra is Tidal Wave ... our names are various beaches where surfers congegate....some will be more familiar to you than others, but all are well known to those who surf for recreation or competition.
And, as before....boys on blue and girls on pink: (and remember...you can click on a picture and have it enlarged full screen).
Next update will we next weekend, when puppies will be entertaining their first visitors.

APOLOGIES !!!!!

Last night, when I uploaded the pictures...for whatever reason, they would not attach in the proper size, so I know it was very difficult (or maybe even downright impossible) to see exactly how gorgeous their little faces are now with their eyes open.....so Darlene's husband resent the pictures to me, and I downloaded them to my computer, and then uploaded them to the blog....and voila' -- perfect....thank you all for your patience.

Tomorrow they are 3 weeks old and Darlene plans to begin with pan feeding them, and I will be visiting them this coming weekend...so you will get to see individual pictures. Puppies are now in a larger pen (see bottom picture) and can move around more and are already leaving their sheepskin bed to go over to their newspapers to potty...Dalmatians are really a wonderfully clean breed and usually super easy to potty train.

Again...the boys have the blue background and the girls are pink.

Here are the face shots of the pups showing how pretty their facial markings are, as well as some group shots of them in their slightly larger pen....next week we will do individual shots and also reveal the litter theme!

1.5 WEEKS OLD

And spotting patterns are beginning to emerge! Eyes are not yet open but are beginnging to crack just a wee bit in the inner corners; in a few days they will be more open. As you can see by their pictures, they are being taken care of in a wonderful fashion by momma Kirra...all are fat and happy. In the pix below, girls are on pink blankie and boys are on the blue, as is the whole gang with mom.

Next time we post we will hope to get some good face shots...probably on Thursday or Friday of the coming week.

FIVE DAYS OLD NOW

At five days, the puppies are filling out and beginning to grow. Kirra is taking wonderfully good care of them. One boy is smaller than the others, but he is nursing well and even tho he might not be as big as his siblings right now, we expect he will catch up in short order. Next photoshoot and blog update will be Saturday, Sept. 18th

PUPPIES ARE HERE!

Kirra began to deliver her pups around 4:15 this am and finished a little after 11 am. Although there were 11 puppies born, unfortunately one little boy was still born and we could not revive him. Also, one of the little girls is VERY tiny and we are not sure that she will survive. Right now, we are hand feeding her every hour, alternating glucose solution (honey and water) with puppy formula. She does not want to nurse so we use a small syringe. If she makes it thru the next day and begins to actually nurse, we think she will have a good chance.... so, prayers for her, please.

Kirra is UNBELIEVABLY relaxed about the whole thing....just as tho she had done this before (which she has not!). She carefully sorts them out and they are all carefully washed. We just need to be sure that the slightly smaller ones get the best nipples...but all the pups are very uniform....two larger ones are about 10 ounces and the remainder are about 8 ounces.... Little teeny is only 4.5 ounces tho.

KIRRA.....CH. KAREFREE'S TOPSPOT TIDAL WAVE, RN..... has been bred to HUMMER...CH. TOPSPOT KAREFREE HIGH VOLTAGE.....with pups due around Sept. 5th. the picture shows Kirra with about 2.5 weeks to go .... updates will be posted as we have more information to share.
